Library Offerings

The Romulus Public Library is located at 11121 Wayne Road in the City Hall complex and serves a population of over 39,000 in the city of Romulus and Huron Township. We are a member of The Library Network consortium.

The library houses over 69,000 items, including books, audio books on CD and tape, large print books, DVDs, music CDs, CD-ROMs, newspapers and magazines. The Michigan Collection provides various local and Michigan history sources. Downloadable audio books, ebooks, and music are also available.

Internet access and online databases provide patrons with the most current information available. Programming for all ages is offered, including author visits, book discussion groups, story times, summer reading programs, and more. The library has fifteen computers available for patron use: thirteen with internet access, one online catalog, and one with kids' games.

Ample study space is provided in quiet areas of the library. Our meeting room is available to non-profit community groups free of charge and can hold up to 40 people.

Romulus Public Library Mission Statement

The mission of the Romulus Public Library is to provide a wide variety of materials and services to patrons of all ages. We strive to maintain a balanced collection of materials for informational, educational, and recreational needs. The library serves as a place for all to discover the joy of reading and the value of libraries.

About our Statue

The bronze statue in front of the library was generously donated by the Friends of the Romulus Public Library and the family of Lew and Nell Sheppard. The statue is a Max Turner bronze entitled "Learning to Read." The dedication of this statue took place at the library on the evening of September 29, 2005. It will grace the front area of the library for years to come and will be enjoyed by all who enter the building.]

About our Stained Glass

The stained glass that hangs near the library entrance is called "Once Upon a Time" and was donated by Michael and Tiffany Patrias in memory of Michael's grandmother, Lillian Patrias. Lillian was a member of the Friends of the Library and a dedicated volunteer for many years. The glass was dedicated on May 19, 2012.
